Jackson expressed his enthusiasm for the new films as well as his willingness to return to reprise his role as Mace Windu in an interview with E! Online published Saturday.

Jackson even offered up an alternative that left no doubt he’d be on board.

McGregor said he has not been asked to be in “Star Wars: Episode VII,” didnt know if a script has been completed, and didnt have information about the stories George Lucas had in mind for the last three films. But actor indicated he’d also be willing to reprise his role.
When asked if he would be game to return to “Star Wars,” McGregor said:
“Yeah, of course. If they needed me I would be up for it, of course. If Obi-Wan Kenobi’s in them, well, it can’t be Alec Guinness out there anymore so I would do it. I wouldn’t want someone else to do it.”
“But maybe he wouldn’t be. Maybe he’s not going to be in them. I don’t know that works,” he shrugged. McGregor then said light-heartedly, “Maybe I’ll be a hologram here or there. I don’t know. I’m very expensive when I’m a hologram. I just remembered that.”
Neither Lucasfilm nor Disney has confirmed the participation of either actor in the new “Star Wars” films. Still, it’s good for fans to know the two stars are willing as they wait for more official news on “Star Wars” to be released.
“Star Wars: Episode VII” is slated for a 2015 release.
